In short
The Pro 3 3000 and Pro 3 3500 use the same handle, the same three modes, the same 360 degree pressure light and the same classic Oral-B heads. The difference is the bundle: the 3500 normally includes a travel case, and colours or included heads can vary. If you travel, the 3500 saves buying a case; if not, the 3000 gives you the same brush.

Our verdict
Buy the Pro 3 3000 if you brush at home and do not need a case. Buy the 3500 if you travel and want the case in the box. Both brush the same way, so choose on bundle, colour and heads included.
Oral-B sells the Pro 3 under several four-digit numbers, and the 3000 and 3500 are the two that come up most. People reasonably assume the higher number means a better brush. In this case it mostly means a different box. This article explains what stays the same, what changes, and how to read a Pro 3 listing so you know exactly what you are getting, including duo packs and versions sold with different heads.
Same handle, different bundle
Both models are the Pro 3 handle: a round oscillating, rotating and pulsating head, a two-minute timer with 30-second prompts, and a 360 degree pressure light. Both are usually listed with three modes: Daily Clean, Sensitive and Whitening.
The 3500 is normally sold with a travel case, while the 3000 is not. Some retailers also pair each number with particular colours or heads, so two Pro 3 3500 listings can show a different head in the picture. The brushing experience is the same.

How to read a Pro 3 listing
Because the number refers to the bundle, read the contents line on the listing rather than the model number alone. Look for these items:
- Handle: it should say Pro 3 or Pro Series 3.
- Heads included: CrossAction, Precision Clean, Sensitive Clean or a 3D White head, and how many.
- Case: whether a travel case is included.
- Charger: a two-pin UK charger, which suits a bathroom shaver socket.
- Duo or twin pack: two handles sharing one charger or each with its own.
Does the travel case matter?
A case protects the head in a wash bag and stops the button being pressed in transit. The Pro 3 case is a protective shell, not a charging case, so you still pack the charger for longer trips.
If you travel for a few days at a time, a full charge is often enough, as Oral-B quotes up to about two weeks of typical use for Pro handles. Our battery-days check turns that figure into days for your own routine. For trips abroad, see taking an electric toothbrush on a plane. If you want a case that charges the brush, that is a feature of higher models; see our guide to toothbrushes with a charging travel case.
Heads and the 3D White versions
Some Pro 3 listings carry 3D White in the name. These normally come with a polishing head and are otherwise the same handle. Every classic Oral-B round head fits every Pro 3, so you can switch to CrossAction or Sensitive Clean at the next change.
Plan on a new head about every three months, as the NHS advises. Our brush-head planner works out heads per year for a household, and how often to change a toothbrush head covers worn bristles and reminders.
When to look beyond the Pro 3
If the 3500 bundle is close to the price of an Oral-B iO, it is worth comparing. The iO adds a magnetic drive, a smart pressure sensor that also flags pressing too softly, and on higher models a display and app guidance. Our Oral-B iO vs Pro 3 comparison and our guide to Oral-B iO models compared cover the step up.
Duo packs and colour versions
Oral-B also sells the Pro 3 as a duo or twin pack, with two handles in the box. These suit couples or a shared bathroom, and each person can keep their own handle and head colour. Check whether the pack includes one charger or two, as a single charger means taking turns overnight. Colour names such as black, white, pink or blue do not change the brush itself, and neither does a gift box. If two listings give the same handle, modes and contents, pick whichever bundle suits you, as the brushing experience will be the same. If a listing is unclear about what is included, the product images and the box contents line usually settle it.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Pro 3 3500 more powerful than the 3000? No. They share the same handle and modes; the difference is the bundle.
Do the 3000 and 3500 use the same charger? Yes. Both use the standard Oral-B inductive charger.
Can I buy a Pro 3 travel case separately? Oral-B and other sellers offer cases for Oral-B handles. Check the case is sized for Pro series handles.
Which modes does the Pro 3 have? Usually Daily Clean, Sensitive and Whitening. See electric toothbrush modes explained.
