The single-handle Next-Generation DiamondClean 9000 is the model that introduces smart coverage feedback to the Sonicare range. The handle glows blue as you finish each area and shows afterwards where you missed, alongside green pressure feedback. It comes in Midnight Green with two A3 heads, a premium charging travel case and a charging base with glass. Only the 9900 Prestige sits above it, adding SenseIQ.

In its favour
- Smart coverage feedback guides you in real time and shows missed areas after brushing.
- Seven modes and three intensities make 21 settings on the interactive display.
- Two A3 heads, a premium charging travel case and a charging base with glass are included.
Good to know
- SenseIQ is not listed, so intensity does not adapt automatically.
- The listing does not give a battery life figure.
Our take
What coverage feedback adds
Philips describes coverage feedback that guides you in real time, glowing blue for completed areas, then post-brushing feedback on the display so you can go back over spots you missed. For anyone who tends to rush the back teeth, this is the feature that justifies the step up from the DiamondClean 8500.
Pressure feedback glows green when force is right, and post-brushing feedback shows where to adjust. Together they turn the display into a short report after every session.
Settings and the display
There are seven modes and three intensities, for 21 settings, chosen on the interactive display. The listing does not name the modes. The Sonicare app tracks progress over time.
Unlike the 9900 Prestige, the 9000 does not list SenseIQ, so intensity stays where you set it rather than adapting to how hard you press.
Box contents and charging
You get the handle, two A3 All-in-One heads, a premium charging travel case and a charging base with glass. That is one more head than the 9900 Prestige and two fewer than the 8500. A battery life figure is not given.
Amazon lists a package weight of 741 g. Philips adds a two-year limited warranty and a 100-day money-back guarantee.
The listing does not say which plug the charging base uses, so check that against your bathroom socket before buying.
Is the Prestige worth the jump
The Next-Gen DiamondClean 9900 Prestige adds SenseIQ, an eighth mode and a Prestige charging case, but comes with only one head. If you set your intensity once and leave it, the 9000 gives you the same coverage and pressure feedback with an extra head in the box. If you do not need coverage tracking, the 8500 with four heads is the better value.
Verdict
The Next-Gen DiamondClean 9000 is the one to buy if you want the brush to show which areas you have covered and confirm your pressure, with a charging case for travel. Pick the 9900 Prestige if you want intensity to adapt automatically, or the DiamondClean 8500 if four heads matter more than coverage feedback.
