This Midnight Blue DiamondClean Prestige 9900 is aimed at travellers who want Philips' SenseIQ handle with as few loose ends as possible. The set stands out because it includes not only a Prestige USB charging case and a charger base, but also the USB lead and wall adapter to power the case. That makes it one of the more complete packages for someone who wants to leave the bathroom charger at home.

In its favour
- The Prestige USB charging case comes with a USB lead and wall adapter, so the case can charge the handle on the move.
- SenseIQ senses pressure, motion and coverage up to 100 times per second, according to Philips, and adapts intensity.
- A separate charger base is included for home, so the travel case does not have to double as your daily stand.
Good to know
- Only one A3 Premium All-in-One head is in the box, which means buying spare heads early.
- This listing does not state the number of modes or battery life in days, so check the manual before a long trip.
Our take
What SenseIQ does here
According to Philips, SenseIQ senses pressure, motion and coverage up to 100 times per second and adapts the intensity if you push too hard. That automatic softening is useful for heavy-handed brushers.
Sonicare's sonic action is described as pulsing water between teeth while brushing to break down plaque. The listing repeats the familiar footnoted claims of up to 20 times more plaque removal and 15 times healthier gums within two weeks.
App reports
The Philips Sonicare app gives progress reports by day, week and month, with personalised recommendations and actionable steps. That suits people who like to see trends rather than a single score after each session.
The full travel kit
The box contains the handle, one black A3 Premium All-in-One head, the Prestige USB charging case, a charger base, and a USB lead with wall adapter. Philips notes a UK two-pin bathroom plug for the base.
With the lead and adapter supplied, you can charge the case from a standard socket, a laptop or a car USB port. The page does not state battery life, nor does it list the number of modes or intensities, so those details need checking on the box.
One head is included. Anyone who goes through heads quickly should plan for a pack of spares alongside the brush.
How it stacks up
The Sonicare DiamondClean 9900 Prestige HX9992/43 shares SenseIQ but lists 5 modes, 3 intensities and several A3 Premium heads, with a charging stand in place of the wall adapter. Among Oral-B options, the Oral-B iO9 Special Edition pairs a charging travel case with a magnetic pouch, for people who prefer the round rotating head.
Verdict
Pick the HX9992/12 if travel convenience is the priority and you want SenseIQ, a USB charging case and the lead and adapter in one box. If you would rather have spare heads and named modes on the listing, the DiamondClean 9900 Prestige HX9992/43 is the better choice, and Oral-B fans should consider the iO9 Special Edition.
